My 15 year old daughter, Avery, and I are huge animal lovers. We are gentle and intuitive. We treat all animals like they are part of our family. I have over 30 years experience owning cats and dogs. Avery has always had animals in her life and has always had a natural way with them.
We love meeting new animals and actually are those animal people …the ones who talk to the animals when we are out in our neighbourhood. We consider each animal a unique soul and try to get to know them personally. We are also the ones the neighbours come to when they find an injured squirrel or a lone baby duck and they don’t know what to do (true stories!).
We currently have 2 cats named Willow & Candy and recently we rescued retired sled dog named Farmer (he is the SWEETEST!). We joke (but it’s not really a joke) that we have more dog friends than human friends. We have also volunteered at a community farm sanctuary where we have had experience caring for cows, horses, goats, sheep, bunnies, chickens, roosters, ducks, turkeys, hedgehogs and guinea pigs. We currently volunteer at a lovely animal ministry where we have experience with miniature donkeys, miniature horses, chickens and a rooster.
We know that we would like to know what our furry family members are up to while we are away so we LOVE to send mini updates and photos throughout the stay so you know how your dogs are enjoying their visit while you are away. We have been told it feels like the dogs are on their own vacation.
I have been a Jikiden Reiki practitioner since 2013. I have experience giving Reiki to the animals at Kindred Community Farm Sanctuary, including Gracie, the cow, while she was giving birth! Our animals love Reiki and have been known to all sit near by while I give a session to someone else. In 2023 Avery became a Shoden (first) level Jikiden Reiki practitioner, too.
In 2024 Avery and I both became certified in Dogsafe Canine First Aid. We want to be able to care for our furry friends the best we can.
We love the idea of being able to care for your animals when you are away. We also specialize in caring for dogs after surgeries and senior dogs.
